Back in 2011, fellow genre hack David Moody (HATER, AUTUMN, STRANGERS) and I did a few signings at various conventions and book stores. As more dates were added, it became a sort of tour thing, rolling on another year… and then another… as we found ourselves travelling up and down the country. Someone referred to it as the ‘Never Trust a Man with Hair’ tour and the title kind of stuck, even generating its own t-shirt and poster.
The tour kind of reached a natural climax with a really fun event co-hosted by This is Horror and Rich Coad (then with Leicester Waterstone’s) featuring Dave and I delivering a warts-and-all talk/ Q&A about our experience to date within the world of genre fiction. The aim was to talk about all the things that nobody else seemed to be talking about: the lows as well as the highs. It seemed to go down really well and became our favourite event to date.
I’m delighted to report that on 21st February 2015, we’re putting the band back together! Yes, Mr Moody and I will be appearing at Southcart Books in Walsall to once again put the worlds to rights and talk about stuff that no one else wants to talk about. Oh, and there’ll be a short reading or two and some books available to buy.
The event is free to attend with complimentary refreshments (including some homemade vegan cookies, courtesy of my lovely ghoulfiend Rebecca). We’d love to see as many people as possible on the day.
